Information Collected

I offer a number of services that do not require you to register for an account or provide any personal information, such as reading the blog, or searching the site. In order to provide the full range of services, however, I may collect the following types of information:

Account Information

If and/or when you register with CLWill.com, I ask you for personal information (such as your name, email address, and an account password).

Comments

When you leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

When you visit CLWill.com, the server may send one or more cookies – a small file containing a string of characters – to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. I use cookies to improve the quality of the service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends, such as how people search. When you use CLWill.com services, the server automatically records information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. When you send email or other communication to me, I may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests, and improve my services.

Links

CLWill.com may present links in a format that enables me to keep track of whether these links have been followed. I may use this information to improve the quality of the searches, or present content customized just for you.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

This privacy policy applies to web sites and services that are operated by me. I do not exercise control over some of the sites displayed as links from within CLWill.com. When you register, I ask you to provide personal information. You can decline to submit personal information, in which case CLWill.com may not be able to provide those services to you.

I restrict access to personal information to me and other CLWill.com employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. In any case, where I provide information access and correction, I will perform this service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort.
